machineKUNT Records reaches Kickstarter goal!

Is this reality or are we somewhere else entirely? We reached our Kickstarter goal! We rocked it! Now at machineKUNT Records we finally have enough money to release Sanity is Slavery. Not only did we do we reach the goal of 3K but we went above and beyond. $3305 was pledged in total.

Sanity is Slavery is a 6 panel digipack with a 24 page booklet and will be released in November of 2010. Through this release we will be raising awareness on psychiatric abuse, forced institutionalization, overmedication, a status quo definition of reality, and the stigma of being “crazy.” The booklet will contain contributing artist bios, pictures, and statements on the cause. We can’t wait to start donating proceeds to MindFreedom International.

We’ve been sending out paintings, manifestos, rare albums, clothing, remixes, and customized songs to the 53 people who pledged on the compilation. We have hired some new people at machineKUNT to make the gears turn faster.

The digital version of Sanity is Slavery will be available for order on September 1st which is also when we will start taking pre-orders for this exclusive digipack. You can listen to clips of the songs right here on this page.

We couldn’t have done this without you. Please help spread the word!

Angie Maddox of Syrenn in the hospital

It’s a sad day when one of our recording artists ends up having an accident in the middle of working on her new album. Angie Maddox of Syrenn was recently taken to the hospital and is currently in debilitating physical pain.

We all hope for her to get better soon. Please send her your best wishes.

Here is a recent review of The Kill House EP that she got from Necromag.

Sexy swirling beats. The Philadelphia industrial act Syrenn lives up perfectly to their name. While holding on to all the cyber-punk discordance people expect from the genre Angie Maddox’s vocals slither through the 4 track E.P. The Kill House promises an electronic act that is not too awash in its own sound to keep them typecast. Syrenn reminds me of The Birthday Massacre without its 80′s bubblegum touches. Undoubtedly musical and coarse in equal measure.

You can check out the full review (and a personal interview with Angie) here: http://www.necromag.co.uk/2010/07/04/syrenn-the-kill-house-ep/

Trimetrick joins machineKUNT Records

Belgium is, and has been, the breeding ground for some of the great pioneers of electronic music for quite a while now. It’s in this tradition that Antwerp city’s Trimetrick is proud and determined to march on the path that was once paved by EBM and Dark Electro masters like A Split Second, Front 242 and Suicide Commando. It was in 2005, when Catherine Jane Robertson entangled her dark poetry and twisted provocative lyrics with Michael Mampaey’s bulldozer beats and eerie synthesizers. Five years later, with an ever-growing discography and with a strong live reputation, they have grown into one of the better alternatives for the far too restricted and stereotypical sound that Dark Electro has become.

After gaining recognition with their underground smash album Utopia Deleted Trimetrick decided to join forces with machineKUNT Records to release their long awaited new record Forms of Blasphemy. This album will feature hits such as Bitch From Hell, Beware!, and Minute Murder. Trimetrick will bomb the bunkers of boredom and expose your ears to the sickest sensations. “Put your boots on, it’s gonna get rough!”
